Recycling Computers

A recent National Safety Council study predicts that over 300 million personal computers will be recycled over the next 4 years.  This includes an estimated 150 million obsolete personal computers currently sitting unused in storage. The EPA estimates that currently 80% of all discarded computer systems find there way into land fills.

The Clean Computer Campaign targets the escalating electronic waste problems across the U.S. and complements the efforts of the International Campaign for Responsible Technology (I-CRT), which was formed more than 10 years ago as an outgrowth of Silicon Valley Toxics Commission

Collective Good  Collective Good refurbishes collected phones at its facility in Southeastern Kentucky and resells them in Latin America at 33% the cost of new phones.
